The Mysterious World of Lektros, Coke, and Our Euro Jet Secret

24. 04. 2017 Blog 7min

Let this blog be a celebration of humankind – a celebration that includes not just accomplishments, but also mysteries, and even secrets.

So let’s begin with one of the great mysteries of modern day man.

If you are thinking of the Colonel’s secret KFC recipe…You are wrong! But perhaps close…

For you Brainiac’s out there, you are probably shaking your head because you know the answer, and are at the same time proving me right.

The human brain remains one of the greatest mysteries. How does 3 pounds of twisted grey and white matter composed of 100 billion nerve cells receive sensory messages and deploy movement in less than a split second?Think of how you are reading this blog with such ease as your eyes send a signal to the brain interpreting what it all means, while you have your cell phone buzzing in your pocket, the television on, along with the dog barking and your baby crying.

How the brain actually does this is not necessarily a mystery, but just for lack of a better word, fairly miraculous. Scientists can explain 90 percent of how the brain works, but the other 10 percent of how the brains functions remains a mystery.

For instance, we really do not understand the human ability to be conscious, to have rational thoughts, to be so intelligent and creative. All of this in turn leads to ideas and innovation.

But despite our high level of intelligence, even humans still need to be pushed – whether it is when they are told what to do, motivated, or incentivized, there is no doubt that if left alone, things would be a little dysfunctional.

On the other hand, our need to push people to perform is what created the whole service industry in business. Companies have popped up that allow for smoother service and better performance when doing a job.

Euro Jet and its global network of locations is a great example of this structure and set-up. We consider it a very innovative idea…

Now speaking of innovation, what would we consider to be the most innovative machine ever created?

Well since we love to discuss aviation, how about the airplane?

Plane movement can easily be explained by some keywords that include push, tow, thrust, lift, vacuum effect, wind, air density… and throw in some of Newtown’s different laws of motion and we have a pretty good explanation.

There is no secret here.

The funny thing about a plane is that while it is arguably the most sophisticated machine ever invented, it has its limitations.

An airplane without its engines running cannot independently move it itself. So push back from Airport Terminals and moving in and out of Private Hangars would be mission impossible unless you had some special equipment.

If you are wondering why you can’t start engines in front of an Airport Terminal, well it would likely blow out all the windows. And that may be a problem…

If you want to get a sense of the power of an aircraft engine, I suggest that next time you are on the tarmac, go stand behind a Boeing 747 with its engines running. Unless you are a motorcade of cars chasing a 747 down Tehran’s runway in the movie Argo, you will most likely get blown away.

So like most people, even planes need a bit of a push. And such a device exists for aircraft.

The Lektro Towbarless Aircraft Tug is able to move aircraft around a tarmac without starting engines and also maneuver aircraft in and out of hangars.Euro Jet recently purchased its own Lektro where we are now able to take care even better care of our customers, by independently moving their aircraft in and out of our 10,000 square foot hangar in Prague.

So we have in life the mysterious occurrences, the explainable things, and then…well things we can explain, but chose not to.

I briefly mentioned above the secret recipe of Colonel Sanders, the founder of KFC.

Another famous mystery recipe is that of the world’s second most famous drink (slivovitz being #1 of course) – Coke. Many people (myself included) are far too hooked on the artificial sugar and of course the high amounts of caffeine.

Similar to how a plane needs the Lektro to give it that necessary push in the right direction, Coke can work wonders on the human brain, especially when it is starting to feel sleepy!

Last month I attended the NBAA International Operators Conference in Atlanta. This four day symposium focused on flying internationally and all the logistical and operational aspects involved. In many ways, experts from the industry were giving away all their secrets to the customers.

The conference culminated with an event at Coke World, a museum that celebrates the history of Coke along with an interactive area where you can try different Coke products from around the world.Though what I liked the most was that they actually had a vault that stores its 131 year old secret recipe. You can walk up to the outside of the vault, but of course you cannot get in.

At Euro Jet, we are free to tell everyone our secret recipe that makes this innovative service a leader in the aviation industry.

Our secret recipe is our PEOPLE! Our people are not locked away in a vault. They are on the ground taking care of your flights around the world.

Every minute of every hour of every day of every year our people are using their brains, coming up with creative ideas, sending messages to the airport that our Lektro may need to move an aircraft that afternoon, in addition to filing flight plans, ordering fuel, applying for permits, and everything else in between.

Every day our 24/7 Operations Control Center (or our “brain” center) and our teams on-the-ground all over the world work to ensure that the world’s greatest technology has all the resources it needs to properly perform.

Sounds exhausting? Not to worry, when our team gets tired, they can always drink a Coke for some energy and snack on KFC for rejuvenation.

There is no mystery to that!
