A Super Team That is Unbreakable!

9. 09. 2016 Blog 5min

We do not see them come to work and hand over the morning shift because we are not at work yet. We do not see them leave work, because we are already gone. They are at work when our alarm clocks go off in the morning and when we brush our teeth before going to bed at night. They are at work when we celebrate Christmas, New Year’s, Easter and they are at work even when we enjoy national holidays. When summer comes, we all welcome more sun and vacation time while they welcome more flights and more work.

This description may sound to you like we are describing a Super Hero team.

Well that is exactly what we are trying to do!

Our Operations Department is a team of amazing people, each of them having a special super power that keeps them going all summer long.

Our OPS department is the heart of the company without which Euro Jet would not exist. Without OPS, our operations would not just run as smooth as it is usually does, it simply wouldn’t run at all.

That is why we dare to call our OPS the Superhero team.Euro Jet’s continuous strategic expansion has led to significant growth in the number of flights we have handled.

And this summer broke records again!

We know we say that all the time, and we must sound like a broken record.

Every summer we tell our customers the same thing: We handled a record amount of flights. Well we are proud of that and of our colleagues in the OPS department who remained unbroken despite all the flight requests coming in day and night.

But that is not all.

OPS has faced many challenges this summer. Since several people went on maternity leave or changed departments within the company, we had to hire several new people to the team.

And make no mistake about it, hiring and training a new person to join OPS is not a two-week process. Initial training lasts for two months and night shift training takes about six months.

As you can imagine, the initial investment in each person is quite substantial.

Once they enter the realm of morning, afternoon and night shifts, they lose any sense of the regular office work week. Their work begins with taking over the previous shift, which can take more than an hour depending on the number of flights.

And the rule is simple: You do not leave work or begin your shift until you brief your colleagues properly on the current status of all flights. Each flight has to be handled with the utmost care and individual approach.

Our OPS Manager Lukas Kadlcik has done his utmost to maintain a high level of service and prompt response time, He often pulls up an OPS chair and works alongside his team to manage all the incoming e-mails and phone calls.

You may think that it is easy job, just answering an email and setting up all services requested. You would be surprised. The work and time dedicated to one flight is enormous.

It is one thing to accept the flight and set-up all services ordered. It is an entirely different thing to implement all the continuous changes requested by the customer. This includes communicating with vendors, asking them to confirm changes, and ultimately making sure our agent is fully briefed and everything runs smoothly on the day of the flight.

Keeping track of all changes, handing over each flight to the next shift, making sure to not forget the slightest detail… That is the daily bread and butter of this amazing team.

And so here comes our big THANK YOU to our record breaking superhero team of Lukas, Jacob, Jakub, Patrik, Rima, Marika, Andy, Tereza, Andrei, Ondrej, Zuzana, Petra, Vera, and Marinela.

Now lets break some more records!
